Meet the Team

  • Katie on Gulliver

    Katie Elliott (she/her)

    GYM MANAGER

Hello! Throughout the years, climbing became an outlet to conquer my fears and anxieties and become a physically stronger athlete, but more importantly, it provided significant mental benefits, including confidence, focus, passion, motivation, an ability to push through and deal with the unexpected; my anxious thoughts are squandered once I find myself on the rock. I never expected to benefit in so many ways, and for others like me that are simply unaware of the possibility or don’t feel like they could ever get involved – I want to share with them, guide them, nurture within them the immense power of recreational therapy through climbing.

  • Henry Ritterpusch (he/him)

    HEAD ROUTESETTER

Hey y'all, my name is Henry. I'm a passionate, lifelong climber. I grew up climbing in the Triangle, but I've spent the last year pursuing hard sport climbing in the U.S. and abroad. I'm extremely motivated to push my limits and send the hardest, sickest lines that I can get my hands on - can't wait to train and climb with everyone soon!

  • Johnny Transporting a Hang Glider

    Johnny Davis (he/him)

    FOUNDER, YOUTH DIRECTOR

Howdy! My name’s Johnny. When I'm not working on the gym, you'll find me projecting at Moore's or hangliding at the beach. I just moved back to the Triangle from the Outer Banks where I instruct over the summers. I miss the beach already, but I can't wait to catch up with my Durham climbing family, and even more excited to meet new friends! See you on the wall :)

  • Cameron Rappelling

    Cameron Fischer (she/her)

    YOUTH HEAD COACH

Hey there- I'm Cameron! I am currently a student at NC State pursuing Electrical Engineering. I’m getting through my degree by escaping outside or climbing during any off time. I love the physical and mental challenge that accompanies the sport. My main focus is pushing individuals to find their passion. If that ends up being climbing then I want to be there to support and guide them to get smarter and stronger on and off the wall. I am excited to meet you all and keep pushing limits together!

  • Cara with her Stained Glass

    Cara Davis

    LOCAL GALLERY COORDINATOR

Hi friends! I've been an artist and creator ever since I can remember. Over the years I've dabbled in just about every medium under the sun, but stained glass has been my primary art form since 2016. In addition to my day job in clinical trial management, I also teach beginner and intermediate level stained glass classes (www.fluxandflowglass.com/classes). When not teaching or playing with glass, you might find me at a yoga class, wandering around the Eno, cultivating my veggie garden or loving on my pack of seven fur and feather babies.

  • Sam Snowboarding

    Sam Van Gorder (she/her)

    PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Hey there! Dr. Sam here. I have been a physical therapist for about 9 years now. My treatment style combines hands-on work with personalized exercise programming aimed at getting you back to doing what you love your way. One of the things I really enjoy about my work is empowering folks coming back from an injury to explore movement confidently again. I love to hear, "I tried... [shows me something we had NOT been working on yet] and it was great!" I am always inspired by the awesome folks I get to meet. I've recently had to retire from soccer after my second ACL tear. Otherwise, you can find me enjoying the trails and lakes of NC or hitting the slopes out West. And while I've only dabbled a bit in climbing, I look forward to trying and learning more while being a part of this amazing community.
